Happy New Year

Happy New Year, may 2013 be a fantastic year for you :o)
Other than the hangover from an awesome party, I knew that in 2013 I'd be 365ing.
So, here we go again, one photo a day for a whole year.
I am going to try and beat my personal best of 171.
I'm not too sure where I'm going with this, but I'm going to try and make them all square, hopefully.

You can't be blooming serious
1/365 1st January 2013
In my garden I have a cherry blossom that is planted between two very large conifers. I'm assuming they make the cherry blossom feel a little warmer as it always starts to flower around this time of year. It's all rather strange.
So as the start of the new year what better than the start of my mad tree flowering.

Double Chocolate Cup Cake

Today I made a double chocolate cup cake.  I had heard the whispers of a cake that can be made quicker than George Lucas changes Star Wars, and I needed to be in on that action.

Stuff I used

  • the biggest mug I could find
  • a small whisk
  • a bowl
  • a 700 watt microwave
  • 1 tablespoon measure
  • 4 tbsp Self-rising flour
  • 4 tbsp Sugar
  • 2 tbsp cocoa
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 5 squares of white chocolate cut in half

What I did with it

  1. Measured out the dry ingredients into the mug (except chocolate squares)
  2. Measured the wet ingredients into the bowl and whisked.
  3. Pour wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix well. Then add chocolate squares.
  4. Microwave on full for 2 mins 30 seconds and leave to cool for 2 mins.
  5. Enjoy :o)

This is how it looked when it was done

The white chocolate pieces were still gooey near the bottom of the mug and the sponge was delicious and soft.  It could be shared with another person and would be delicious with some vanilla ice cream.
I found the basic recipe here http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/8047/molten-mug-chocolate-cake and tweeked it a bit.
Enjoy :o)

Hello Bloglanders :o)

Decided to start a blog, it'll probably be a massive mixture of things, such as, parenthood, weight loss, general life stuff, photos, geekyness, making and baking things.  So not too sure where to start or where I'll end up, but I'm looking forward to finding out.
